  4. The following list of features are desirable in any expert system.

  6. Useful: The system should meet a specific need.
  7. Usable: The system should function so that even a novice computer user finds
  8. it simple to use.  It should be able to respond to simple questions.
  9. Educational: The system should allow non experts to increase their expertise.
  10. In a similar vein, the system should be able to explain the reasoning behind
  11. its advice to allow the user to determine the validity of the advice.
  12. Adaptable: The system should be able to learn new knowledge.
